FLUTTER screenwriter and actor: Edward Lee
For over two years, Edward Lee has been writing arts journalism in Cardiff for a number of magazines and websites including Buzz Magazine, South Wales' leading monthly entertainment and what's on guide. Since graduating from the University of Worcester in Film Studies and Screenwriting, he has been further bolstering his journalism work, shadowing professional theatre producers, performing in amateur theatre, and acting as chief researcher and co-host of Strangetown, his monthly podcast broadcast live from the Wales Millennium Centre.
His chief project since graduating has been acting as a member of the planning team for the RawFfest Youth Arts Festival 2019 which attracted over 300 visitors to the Wales Millennium Centre. During his time organising the wider four-day festival and performing onstage as part of RawFfest’s theatre line-up, he acted as co-producer for the festival's entire literature strand, arranging workshops with industry professionals as well as hosting his own workshop on how to write comic books. Since completing work on the festival in April 2019, Edward has continued working with the RawFfest team in helping form the inaugural WMC Young Creatives Group, to produce youth-based arts events in Cardiff.
Plagued with what some might call an unhealthy obsession with film academia, scriptwriting and comic books, you can usually find Edward wandering the streets or woodland of Cardiff, attempting to summon an ancient deity or two. @edwardlee_writer
